Southern and Western India
Western India is a loosely defined region of India, including the states of Goa, Gujarat, and Maharashtra along with the Union territory of Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The Ministry of Culture and some historians also include the state of Rajasthan. South India is a region of India commonly defined as the area encompassing the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. Covering the southern part of the peninsular Deccan Plateau, South India is bounded by the Bay of Bengal in the east, the Arabian Sea in the west, and the Indian Ocean in the south.
