Krakatoa (also known as Krakatau), Indonesia

Krakatoa or Krakatau is a volcanic island located between the islands of Java and Sumatra in Indonesia. The name also refers to the surrounding islands, which comprise the remnants of much larger island that was destroyed in the enormous 1883 eruption. Related BRANCH Article: Monique R.
