Preston is a city in Lancashire, England. It obtained city status in 2002 and became England’s 50th city. Preston has been a producer of textiles since the mid-thirteenth century and then expanded significantly during the Industrial Revolution and only fell into decline in the mid-twentieth century. It is currently the seat of the Lancashire County Council.
