Balliol College
Balliol College is one of the oldest constituent colleges at University of Oxford. Founded in 1263, Balliol’s rival is Trinity College, Oxford; women were admitted in the 1970s; its patron saint is St. Catherine of Alexandria; it also has a long tradition of having a resident tortoise. Economist Adam Smith and author Aldous Huxley are Balliol graduates.
