Centre Point

The Centre Point building is located in central London and is 34 stories tall which makes it one of the tallest buildings within London. It stands at 101-103 New Oxford Street and 5-24 St Giles High Street. Features nearby include the Tottenham Court tube station, St. Giles Circus, and St. Giles Hotel which is where we will be staying at. A nearby park called, Sohi Square, and various restaurants are within walking distance too.  It is recognized for it’s brutalism style as one of the earliest buildings to adapt this architecture. It is not accessible to the public, but we will pass it on our way to Tottenham Court tube station, as it is a three-minute walk from our hotel. That being said, on our trip to London we will be confronted with brutalism more than once. Key features, as mentioned in the timeline explanation include, exposed concrete, glass, brick, and metal paneling.
