Halifax is the capital of the candaian province of Noca Scotia. Indeed it is renowned for having large concrentration on government services. It had large Victorian houses for the architecture. Indeed it was also known for having Victorian era public gardens that were first established in 1867. It also has film festivals every now and then. In the story, after hearing Mr. Sutherland's plan to have the other girl's be ingnorant of Zillah's affair and his ill deeds they were to head to their home. Miss Pryor decided to depart from them, nw that she played her part as governess, "So we parted at Halifax, and I never saw any of the family again" (pg. 76). Indeed it was sad that Pryor left the family on such terms but at least she would play her part of helping out Zillah.
