According to Britannica, Northhamptonshire is a rural county in England that became known for producing shoes during the Industrial Revolution (par. 5). In regards to Jane Austen's Mansfield Park, Northhamptonshire is where some of the novel's important ficitonal locations like Mansfield park are located (35). Thornton Lacey and Sotherton are also based in Northhamptonshire and are real locations (254,103).
