Waterloo Place is a square in London named in celebration of the Duke of Wellington's victory over Napoleon in the Battle of Waterloo. The square is an extension of Regent Street and is crossed by Pall Mall. The square contains a memorial to the Crimean War and a statue of Edward VII, along with nine other statues and monuments. Carlton House (the residence of King George IV) was once here, though it was demolished after Buckingham Palace became the monarch’s residence. The two Carlton House Terraces now reside there.
