Heather Herbert is a PhD student at Old Dominion University, with a dual-focus on rhetoric, writing, and discourse studies and literary and cultural studies. An avid reader of creepy medical lore, Heather was pleased to finally find her knowledge of the historical medicinal uses of silver useful, and as a fiber artist, she was delighted to combine her practical understanding of fiber and dye practices with research into sumptuary laws of the time.
