Sussex is a county that covers the southeastern part of England; south of London to be more exact (“Sussex”). Additionally, Sussex at this current time is divided into three administrative counties: East Sussex, West Sussex, as well as Brighton and Hove (“Sussex”). England did not always control Sussex, however; the Romans were the original inhabitants of this land (“Sussex”). Subsequently, a faction known as the South Saxons (of which the name of Sussex is derived) invaded the land and settled (“Sussex”). Following this, the new kingdom of Sussex conquered the neighboring kingdom of Wessex, expanding its area (“Sussex”). Since its founding, Sussex haas seen much growth, mostly through the 18th-20th centuries ("Sussex").
